Tim’s note: New JEB member Jake recently went to his first international event, the week-long Internacia Junulara Kongreso. Here’s his report, in which he gives you an idea of what these things are like, and tells how he was dreaming in Esperanto after the second day.

Antaŭ la IJK, mi sentis fortajn emociojn. Mi tre ĝojis ke mi povos uzi Esperanton kaj renkonti aliajn Esperantistojn. Mi sentis min kulpa tamen ke mi devos flugi (ĉar mi ne estis sufiĉe memfida por veturi sole tra Francion al Strasburgo por partopreni en la Karavano de Alekĉjo) pro la ekologia kosto kaj mi timis, ĉu al mi plaĉos la IJK, ĉu la partoprenantoj estos afablaj? The recent Internacia Junulara Kongreso in Liberec and Universala Kongreso in Bialystok have attracted an unusual amount of attention from the British press.

An article about JEB members Tim Owen and Clare Hunter appeared in the Birmingham Mail last week – you can read it online, here.
