This year’s IS is taking place between 27th December and 3rd January in the picturesque German town of Biedenkopf. If you want to know more, you should check out the cool new IS website, where you can read all about the proposed program and see photos from last year’s event

As is traditional, there promises to be a high JEB turn-out this year. If you would like to join us, feel free to get in touch at the forums, where we will do our best to answer any questions you might have. This thread, which discusses the best and cheapest ways to get to Biedenkopf, may also be of use. Don’t forget that if you’re under 26 and speak Esperanto, you may be eligible to attend Esperanto events for free

Guy Johnston, lastatempa alveninto en JEB, ĉeestis la Internacian Junularan Kongreson. Li verkis ĉi tiun raporteton pri la evento.

La ĉi-jara Internacia Junulara Kongreso en Szombathely, Hungarujo, estis mia unua kongreso de tut-monda Esperanto-organizaĵo, kaj mia unua sperto de esti sam-tempe kun kelkaj centoj da esperantistoj. Mi jam konis la unikan senton donatan de Esperanto de esti kun homoj el diversaj landoj kvazaŭ ĉiuj estus sam-landanoj, sed antaŭe mi ne estis jam spertinta tiun unikaĵon tiom grand-skale. Estas danke al la helpo de NoJEF ke mi havis sufiĉe da mono por iri.

Having just got back from the IJK in Hungary, JEB are now looking to organise another meet-up in the UK this autumn. This will be a small, informal get-together, probably on a Saturday afternoon, at a time and location as yet to be decided At the moment we’re open to suggestions for a town to meet in - our most recent meetings have been in Leicester, Peterborough and Buxton - so if you are interested in coming along and would like to suggest a location convenient for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch either here or in the forums and we’ll see what we can do We will also be grateful if interested parties could get in touch with their preferred dates so that we can try to arrange a day convenient for all. The current thinking is late September or early October to give everyone a chance to get back from their exciting summer holidays!

This weekend, five JEBanoj travelled to the beautiful Peak District town of Buxton for the second annual JEB Summer Meet-up. The event was somewhat more sparsely attended than I had hoped, but whether this was my fault for accidentally arranging it to clash with the first weekend of the UK, or Tim’s fault for vetoing the funky piece of Wordart I tried to put in the flyer, is a matter open for debate Nevertheless, five’s company, six is a crowd, and those of us who attended had a very enjoyable weekend indeed Read the rest of this entry »
